Love this red carpet makeup on actress Maggie Q, using mostly Laura Mercier. Makeup artist Mai Quynh created a “soft and pretty” makeup look that allowed Maggie’s “natural beauty to stand out.” MUA Quynh used a dusty rose and soft plum palette to complement the actress’ dress and hair. The final look was “fresh and polished.” How amazing does her skin look? She didn’t wake up like this, there is a lot of skin prep that must be done before to achieve this flawless complexion.
I love this makeup look because it would be something I’d do for a bride. It is natural, dewy and supremely polished, perfect for a spring or summer ceremony. To create this canvas the skin was prepped with RéVive Sensitif Renewal Cream, to the entire face, and then followed with Laura Mercier Foundation Primer, ($33) and Laura Mercier Smooth Finish Flawless Fluide Foundation (launching Sept 2014). Also, there is Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage Concealer in SC-5, underneath her eyes and around her nose. The look was completed using Laura Mercier Caviar Stick Eye Colour in Amethyst onto the lids, from the lash line to the crease. Next, she mixed together Laura Mercier Sateen Eye Colour in Kir Royal and Laura Mercier Matte Eye Colour in Coffee Ground and smudged both colors close to the lash line and blended it upwards, fading it into her crease. She then lightly smudged the same two shadows along Maggie’s lower lash line for added definition.
Most of these products (except for the foundation) are available at Laura Mercier ‘s website.
What a gorgeous look. She seriously has some amazing skin, and I can so see this on a bride. Subtle, yet just the right amount of oomph. Beautiful look.
