Breakfast is my most beloved meal of the day. I feel a good breakfast sets the tone for a good productive day. Nutrition is very important and I like to break up my most important meal in two parts. By midmorning, I love adding a nutritious cereal to my routine, it helps me with energy and carries to lunch without feeling too hungry. Breakfast is the type of meal that is so crucial, it is often overlooked.

My most favorite breakfast dish is a parfait using Great Grains Raisins, Dates and Pecans cereal. Why? It has a balanced nuts, grains and fiber. I love that it is crunchy and keeps me fueled until I am able to eat lunch, no matter what. Be sure to grab your coupon for Great Grains, this is a great offer happening right now, try it out for yourself. If I am on the go, I’ll pack my cereal in a small container and take it with me for when I get hungry.

But wait, Great Grains offers more flavors too. If nuts and dates aren’t your thing, there is Great Grains Cranberry Almond Crunch. There are many ways you can dress up your cereal and even make recipes, I noticed there are smoothies and bowls to be had using Great Grains flavors.

What is your favorite breakfast meal? Tell me in the comments section.

Spa Week 2015

September 10, 2015 // 17 Comments

Spa Week 2015 is here! This is a totally unique opportunity to experience affordable $50 spa treatments all over the USA. This is a bi-annual event focused on the personal health and wellness treatments. Every April and October, hundreds of spa and wellness locations across North America provide two to three full-service spa treatments for just $50 each, an awesome chance to access to the spa world of bliss (for me at least).

Bookings can be made starting today. Spa Week appointments will be valid from October 12th through October 18th 2015. Every spa treatment is $50. When you call the spa to make your appointment (s), mention Spa Week and the treatment you’d like while booking your appointment. Spas only offer two or three treatments at a Spa Week discount but they offer dozens of others at full price, so be specific. Also, PLEASE remember to tip, standard gratuity is 15-20% of the ORIGINAL spa treatment cost. Even though the spa is giving Spa Week customers a discounted treatment, your therapist needs some love, especially if you are happy with your treatment.

I am very excited to be partaking and have been looking around spas in my area to choose from. Facials and massages are probably two of my most favorite non-work related activities. Spa-ing is the only instance I get “me” time, no phone, no kids, no work. I usually relax so much, I fall asleep!

Sign up via email and start finding out what spas are participating, go to SPA WEEK’s Website. Appointments are being taken now.

Beautisol Exscrub Me Citrus Face Exfoliant Review

June 2, 2014 // 30 Comments

Beautisol Exscrub Me Exfoliant
Beautisol Exscrub Me exfoliant has been on my testing shelve for a few weeks, generally I use my scrubs twice a a week. And this is no ordinary scrub, Beautisol Exscrub Me is paraben-free, propylene glycol-free, sodium laurel/laureth sulfate-free, organic-certified AND cruelty-free (PETA certified).

One thing about my skin is that it is sensitive and dry, I tend to get itchy/ red if an exfoliant is too harsh. I’ve done chemical peels and love my facials although I always breakout after, which in fact is normal and expected after a treatment. When I schedule my facials I do it with weeks in advance and never before an event, this is also something I do recommend to brides and clients – PLAN AHEAD your waxing, threading and facials. I am fine with the breaking out part and don’t mind it because I usually clear within a couple of days. Once the debris clears, my skin glows!

Beautisol Exscrub Me Jojoba beads’ are fine and very active, I used it on my oily nose and a bit around my face and felt the scrubbing action right away. After I washed the scrub off, my face was a tiny wee red but I felt OK, as my skin recovered within minutes. This scrub is awesome for a pre-wax/ sunless tanning session and definitely one that can be used on the body, not just the face. For the sensitive skin types like me, I would suggest using small amounts and pick your most oily areas and where pores are enlarged. For the price of this scrub, you are getting a lot of product so definitely a huge bonus.

I liked the fact that Beautisol Exscrub Me has incorporated natural ingredients while keeping it cruelty-free and organic. My only wish us that Beautisol Exscrub Me would add more oils to its formula to balance out the sting factor and compliment those with dry skin. Overall though, the experience with it was good even though this is a scrub not entirely suited for someone with my skin type, I give it high marks for its powerful beads and DIY exfoliant.

Beautisol Exscrub Me retails for $17 and is available at Beautisol.com
